AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2324




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2324 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 5. The School Code is amended  by changing Section 
511E-5 as follows:
 
6    (105 ILCS 5/11E-5)
7    Sec. 11E-5. Purpose and applicability; report. The purpose 
8of this Article is to permit greater flexibility and efficiency 
9in the reorganization and formation of school districts for the 
10improvement of the administration and quality of educational 
11services and for the best interests of pupils. This Article 
12applies only to school districts with under 500,000 
13inhabitants.

14    Pursuant to the purpose of this Article, the State Board of 
15Education shall submit a report to the General Assembly, on or 
16before January 1, 2017, with recommendations on which school

1districts in this State should be consolidated or dissolved.

3    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
