AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2412




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2412 on page 1, 
3line 5, by replacing "Section 27-5" with "Sections 27-5 and 
427-13"; and
 
5on page 1, line 8, by replacing ":" with ":"; and
 
6on page 1, line 9, by deleting "ALL COUNTIES"; and
 
7on page 1, immediately after line 21, by inserting the 
8following:


 
9    "(60 ILCS 1/27-13 new)
10    Sec. 27-13. Cost and services study. Prior to certifying 
11and causing a proposition to be submitted to the voters under 
12Section 27-10, the corporate authorities of the municipality 
13and the township board  shall conduct or have conducted a cost 
14and services study detailing the fiscal and services impact the

1discontinuance of the township would have on the taxpayers of 
2the township and municipality. Any such cost and services study 
3shall be completed on or before 45 days after adoption of an 
4ordinance, or receipt of a petition, under Section 27-10. After 
5receipt of the cost and services study by the township board, 
6and no later than 60 days after adoption of an ordinance, or 
7receipt of a petition, under Section 27-10, the township board 
8shall certify and cause the proposition to be submitted to the 
9voters of the township to discontinue and abolish the township 
10organization as provided in Section 27-10.".
