Amends the Township Code and the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that the township board or corporate authorities of a municipality that borders an airport with at least 500,000 combined aircraft departures and landings per year may, by ordinance, regulate airspace over the township or municipality. Defines "airspace" to mean an altitude up to 1,000 feet above the highest obstacle on the surface of the township or municipality.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Township Code is amended by adding Section |
5 | | 85-60 as follows: |
6 | | (60 ILCS 1/85-60 new) |
7 | | Sec. 85-60. Airspace regulation. The township board of a |
8 | | township that borders an airport, as defined in Section 6 of |
9 | | the Illinois Aeronautics Act, with at least 500,000 combined |
10 | | aircraft departures and landings per year may, by ordinance, |
11 | | regulate airspace over the township. For the purposes of this |
12 | | Section, "airspace" means an altitude up to 1,000 feet above |
13 | | the highest obstacle on the surface of the township. |
14 | | Section 10. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by |
15 | | adding Section 11-101-3 as follows: |
