SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, President Barack Obama will come to the City of 
3Springfield, Illinois, on Wednesday, February 10, 2016; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, The President will be in the Capital City while 
5the Ninety-Ninth General Assembly of the State of Illinois is 
6in session; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The President served as a member of the Illinois 
8General Assembly from the Ninetieth General Assembly through 
9the Ninety-Third General Assembly, as the Senator representing 
10the Thirteenth Legislative District; and


  
 
11    WHEREAS, The President has been asked, and has agreed, to 
12address a Joint Session of the two Houses; therefore, be it
  
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES 
15CONCURRING HEREIN, that the two Houses invite President Barack 
16Obama to address a Joint Session of this General Assembly; and 
17be it further
  
 
18    RESOLVED, That the two Houses shall convene in a Joint 
19Session on  February 10, 2016 at the call of the President of 
20the Senate and Speaker of the House of Representatives, in the

1Chamber of the House of Representatives, for the purpose of 
2hearing President Barack Obama address the General Assembly; 
3and be it further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
5presented to the President, as a formal expression of this 
6invitation and of the respect and esteem in which he is held by 
7the members of the General Assembly.
