SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Charles Couri of Peoria, who passed away 
4on December 19, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Couri was born on January 30, 1956 in 
6Peoria; his parents were Anthony and Maureen (nee Williams) 
7Couri; he married Jeni Abraham on July 15, 1984 in Peoria; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Charles Couri graduated from the Spalding 
9Institute in Peoria in 1974; he subsequently earned his 
10Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Illinois State 
11University and his Juris Doctorate from the Southern Illinois 
12University School of Law; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Charles Couri was a partner in the law firm of 
14Westervelt, Johnson, Nicoll, and Keller in Peoria; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Charles Couri was a member of St. Sharbel Catholic 
16Church, Maronite Rite, in Peoria; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Charles Couri loved golf, cars, and woodworking; 
18and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Charles Couri was preceded in death by his father;

2    WHEREAS, Charles Couri is survived by his wife, Jeni; his 
3mother; a son, Christopher; a daughter, Allison; 5 brothers, 
4Thomas (Angie) Couri, Dr. Gene (Gretta) Couri, Anthony (Mary 
5Beth) Couri, Jr., Kenneth (Ilda) Couri, and Michael (Theresa) 
6Couri; and 2 sisters, Mary (Gary) Burton and Margaret (John) 
7Zdanowski; therefore, be it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
10family and friends, mourn the passing of Charles Couri; and be 
11it further
  
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13presented to the family of Charles Couri as an expression of 
14our sympathy.
