| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Ronald "Ron" Cornelius, who passed away |
| 4 | | on December 18, 2014; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Cornelius was born on December 24, 1941 in |
| 6 | | Joliet; his mother was Ollie Kay Cornelius; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Cornelius graduated from Joliet Township |
| 8 | | High School in 1960; he subsequently earned a degree in |
| 9 | | business administration from Roosevelt University in 1977; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Cornelius was employed with Commonwealth |
| 11 | | Edison for 34 years; after retiring from ComEd, he served as a |
| 12 | | counselor at Joliet Job Corps and Aunt Martha's Youth Service |
| 13 | | Center; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Cornelius served in local politics since |
| 15 | | the 1980s; he was elected to the Joliet Township High School |
| 16 | | Board and was appointed as a commissioner on the Will County |
| 17 | | Board; he also served as president of the Joliet Public Library |
| 18 | | Board and as a member of the Will County Board of Health; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Ronald Cornelius was a member of the Beacon Club |
| 20 | | and the Associated Clubs of Greater Will County; and |
