| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Richard R. "Dick" Cronholm, who passed |
| 4 | | away on December 18, 2014; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Cronholm was born in 1935; his parents |
| 6 | | were Robert and Lillian Cronholm; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Richard Cronholm served his country as a member of |
| 8 | | the United States Army's 82nd Airborne Division; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Richard Cronholm was a proud graduate of Taft |
| 10 | | School and a member of the Lockport Township High School Class |
| 11 | | of 1953; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Richard Cronholm was the co-owner of B&B Masonry |
| 13 | | for over 50 years; he retired from the Lockport Township Fire |
| 14 | | Protection District after serving as a firefighter for over 32 |
| 15 | | years; he subsequently continued his service to the Fire |
| 16 | | District as a Trustee for 18 years; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Richard Cronholm was a charter member of |
| 18 | | International Association of Firefighters Local 1544 and a life |
| 19 | | member and GOld Card recipient of the International Union of |
| 20 | | Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 74; he was a member |
|

| 1 | | of the Taft School District Board for 12 years; he also served |
| 2 | | as 4th Ward Alderman of the City of Lockport and was a member |
| 3 | | of various boards and commissions for the last 9 mayors of |
| 4 | | Lockport; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Richard Cronholm was a member of the First |
| 6 | | Congregational United Church of Christ in Lockport, Lockport |
| 7 | | Golf and Recreation, the Prairie Bluff Monday Men's Golf |
| 8 | | League, the 82nd Airborne Reunion Group, the Lockport Township |
| 9 | | High School Class of 1953 Reunion Committee, the Joliet Area |
| 10 | | Retired Firefighters, Lockport Lodge 1557 Loyal Order of Moose, |
| 11 | | the Lockport Church Dartball League, and Norma's Breakfast |
| 12 | | Club; he was also a private pilot; and |
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Richard Cronholm was preceded in death by his |
| 14 | | parents; a brother, Russell; a sister, Barbara McCarthy; and a |
| 15 | | brother-in-law, Jack McCarthy; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Richard Cronholm is survived by his wife, Barbara |
| 17 | | (nee Reick) Cronholm; 3 children, Colleen (Jeff) Carlson, Rob |
| 18 | | (Sally) Cronholm, and Rick Cronholm; 8 grandchildren, Kyle |
| 19 | | Carlson, Taylor (Landon) DeSandre, Ryan (Jennifer) Cronholm, |
| 20 | | Rachel (Jeff) Turner, Regan Cronholm, Roberta Cronholm, |
| 21 | | Cassidy Cronholm, and Ross Cronholm; a great-grandchild, |
| 22 | | Charlotte Turner; a sister-in-law, Delores Cronholm; and many |
| 23 | | nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

| 1 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
| 2 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his |
| 3 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Richard R. "Dick" |
| 4 | | Cronholm; and be it further
|
| 5 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 6 | | presented to the family of Richard Cronholm as an expression of |
| 7 | | our sympathy.
