| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Charles Richard "Dick" Neumiller of | ||||||
| 4 | Peoria, who passed away on January 2, 2015; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Charles Neumiller was born on November 9, 1931 to | ||||||
| 6 | Harry J. and Grace L. (nee Gridley) Neumiller; he graduated | ||||||
| 7 | from Peoria High School in 1949 and received a bachelor's | ||||||
| 8 | degree from Knox College in
finance and economics; while at | ||||||
| 9 | Knox College, he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity | ||||||
| 10 | and was a
member of Phi Beta Kappa; he married Nancy Ann
| ||||||
| 11 | Coolidge on June 6, 1961 at First Federated Church of Peoria; | ||||||
| 12 | and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Charles Neumiller served on the Peoria City
| ||||||
| 14 | Council for 12 years as Councilman for the 4th District; he was | ||||||
| 15 | the interim Mayor of Peoria from 1984 to
1985; he served on | ||||||
| 16 | numerous boards throughout his life, including Goodwill | ||||||
| 17 | Industries International, Inc., The Dirksen Congressional | ||||||
| 18 | Center, the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, Heartland | ||||||
| 19 | 2020, Peoria Area
Tricentennial, Wildlife Prairie Park, the | ||||||
| 20 | Peoria-based Biotechnology Research and Development | ||||||
| 21 | Corporation, The
Forest Park Foundation, the Peoria Area | ||||||
| 22 | Chamber of Commerce, and the Peoria Ballet Academy; and
| ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | WHEREAS, Charles Neumiller was a lifelong member of First | ||||||
| 2 | Federated Church of Peoria, where he served in many capacities, | ||||||
| 3 | including as
an elder, president of the congregation, and on | ||||||
| 4 | the archives committee; he was a longtime photographer, | ||||||
| 5 | specializing in railroads; he was an Eagle Scout and a lifelong | ||||||
| 6 | Chicago Cubs fan; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Charles Neumiller was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 8 | parents and his brothers, Harry and Tom Neumiller; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Charles Neumiller is survived by his wife, Nancy; | ||||||
| 10 | his children, Jane (Marcus) Neumiller-Bustad, Roger | ||||||
| 11 | (Valentina)
Neumiller, and Kate (Bill) Schureman; and his | ||||||
| 12 | grandchildren, Sara
Bustad and Kristina, Melody, Victoria, | ||||||
| 13 | James, and Amelia Neumiller; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 15 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 16 | Charles Richard "Dick" Neumiller, and extend our sincere | ||||||
| 17 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
| 18 | him; and be it further
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 20 | presented to the family of Charles Neumiller as an expression | ||||||
| 21 | of our deepest sympathy.
