SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of John E. Ray of Woodstock, who passed away
4on December 4, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, John Ray was born on August 18, 1942 in Aiken,
6South Carolina; his parents were Lawton and Maude (nee Herrin)
7Ray; he married Judy Nastav on October 8, 1966; and
 
8    WHEREAS, John Ray served his country as a member of the
9United States Army; he designed pumps that were used by NASA on
10the International Space Station and received 2 mission patches
11from his work in the space program; and
 
12    WHEREAS, John Ray enjoyed restoring old cars and was a
13member of the Pontiac Club; he also played Minor League
14Baseball in his youth and was a founding member of the Tri City
15Little League; and
 
16    WHEREAS, John Ray was preceded in death by his parents and
17a sister, Martha Ann Feldbusch; and
 
18    WHEREAS, John Ray is survived by his wife, Judy; a son,
19Brian (Krista) Ray; 2 daughters, Tina (David) Coalson and
20Debbie (Keith) Kirchhardt; 4 grandchildren, Kollin and Jordan

1Kirchhardt, Marshall Coalson, and Carter Ray Coalson; a
2brother, Carroll (Janet) Ray; an aunt, Gertrude Cooper; 2
3nephews, Matt (Melissa) Lazinski and Mike (Amanda) Lazinski;
4and 6 nephews and 3 nieces; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
7family and friends, mourn the passing of John E. Ray; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of John Ray as an expression of our
11sympathy.
