SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Roy J. Mennenga of Gifford, who passed 
4away on December 27, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Roy Mennenga was born on December 24, 1935 in 
6Urbana; his parents were John and Hattie (nee Rosenback) 
7Mennenga; he married LouAnn Schluter on January 18, 1959 in 
8Gifford; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Roy Mennenga started working at George's Gas 
10Service in Rantoul; he worked as a custodian and bus driver for 
11Flatville schools and as a bus driver in Gifford for over 40 
12years; he also farmed all his life in the Gifford area; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Roy Mennenga was a member of the Gifford German 
14Fall Festival Committee and the Immanuel Lutheran Church; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Roy Mennenga was preceded in death by his parents; 
16and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Roy Mennenga is survived by his wife, LouAnn; 3 
18children, Linda (Kevin) Wolken, Kevin (Sherri) Mennenga, and 
19Janet Mennenga; 5 grandchildren, Kurt Wolken, Heather Johnson, 
20Keaton Mennenga, Haley Mennenga, and Hanna Mennenga; and 3

1great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
4family and friends, mourn the passing of Roy J. Mennenga; and 
5be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Roy Mennenga as an expression of our 
8sympathy.
