SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mary Sandra "Sandy" Moser of Naperville, who passed away on December 22, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Mary Moser was born in Quincy on October 3, 1936 to Carl and Dolly Boltz; she graduated from Quincy Notre Dame High School, where she was involved in plays and musicals, the school paper, cheerleading, and was selected as Homecoming Queen; in 1958, she graduated from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she continued her involvement in theater, and was involved in student government and the campus newspaper; she was recognized in Who's Who Among Students at American Colleges & Universities; and

WHEREAS, Following graduation, Mary Moser moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin and worked as a social worker for the Catholic Apostolate; she moved to Naperville in 1962 and married Jim Moser at SS. Peter & Paul Church; and

WHEREAS, Mary Moser moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1989 and opened the Backyard Inn Restaurant with her brother, Tim Boltz; she returned to Naperville in 2012; and

WHEREAS, Mary Moser volunteered for many organizations, including Catholic Daughters, Meals on Wheels, the Girl & Boy Scouts of America, the Naperville Little League, Saints Peter and Paul School, and Benet Academy; and

WHEREAS, Mary Moser enjoyed numerous outdoor activities, including skiing, fishing, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers; she also enjoyed traveling, card games, and spending time with her children and grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Mary Moser was preceded in death by her brother, Tim Boltz; and

WHEREAS, Mary Moser is survived by her 4 children, Kate (Bob) Ontko, Matt, Mitch, and Porter (Megan) Moser; her 9 grandchildren, Kelsey, Lara, and Porter Ontko, Kayla and Shannon Moser, and Jordan, Jake, Ben, and Max Moser; her brothers, Dan (Fran) Boltz and Porter (Joy) Boltz; her sister-in-law, Pat Boltz; her uncle, Jack Settle; and her nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Mary Sandra "Sandy" Moser, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary Moser as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
