| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Robert Douglas "Rob" Aper of Normal, who |
| 4 | | passed away on January 24, 2015; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Aper was born on September 7, 1970 in |
| 6 | | Lincoln; his parents were Floyd and Gail Aper; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Robert Aper attended Illinois State University |
| 8 | | before enlisting in the United States Army; he subsequently |
| 9 | | served in Korea and in Operation Desert Storm; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, After his discharge from the Army, Robert Aper |
| 11 | | served as a Corrections Officer for the McLean County Sheriff's |
| 12 | | Office; he also worked as a Firefighter in Normal for 17 years; |
| 13 | | and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Robert Aper served on the Board of the Bloomington |
| 15 | | Cardinals Youth Football League and was a member of the |
| 16 | | League's medical staff, where he helped create mandatory |
| 17 | | concussion testing for all football players; he helped in the |
| 18 | | library at Parkside Elementary School and served as a pin man |
| 19 | | for wrestling, handing out pins to the wrestlers for their |
| 20 | | achievements; he also coached the Bloomington-Normal Baseball |
| 21 | | Association for many years; and
