| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Verlene "Doll" Mayo; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Verlene Mayo was born in Byhaline, Mississippi on |
| 5 | | April 21, 1940 to Haywood and Mentie Jones; she attended Dunbar |
| 6 | | High School and married Ivory Mayo in 1956; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Verlene Mayo enjoyed music and watching sci-fi and |
| 8 | | scary movies; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Verlene Mayo was preceded in death by her parents; |
| 10 | | her husband, Ivory; her daughter, Cassandra Mayo; her sister, |
| 11 | | Rosie Lee Street; and her 3 brothers, Haywood, Jr., Anthony, |
| 12 | | and Milton Jones; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Verlene Mayo is survived by her daughters, Sharron |
| 14 | | (Franklin), Margie (Darrell), Lisa, and Audrey; her sons, |
| 15 | | Robert, Keenan, and Gerrod; her grandchildren that she raised; |
| 16 | | her 21 other grandchildren, Jerica, Dhrarron, Germona, |
| 17 | | Chareese, Ronald, Martina, Laresa, Andrew, Kenneth, Tenille, |
| 18 | | Valentina, Piere, Clezella, Taisha, Robyn, Alisa, Danny, Jr., |
| 19 | | Alicia, Tomika, Shankeka, and Dre Mar; over 60 |
| 20 | | great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends; |
| 21 | | therefore, be it

| 1 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
| 2 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 3 | | Verlene "Doll" Mayo, and extend our sincere condolences to her |
| 4 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
| 5 | | further

| 6 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
