SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Arthur D. Wilson of Minonk, who passed away on February 16, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Wilson was born on April 23, 1933 in Whitham, Missouri; his parents were John H. and Cynthia Craig Wilson; he married Dorothy Cordray on December 12, 1951 in Marceline; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Wilson was a graduate of Marceline High School; he was employed at Caterpillar in East Peoria for over 40 years until his retirement in 1992; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Wilson was a member of the United Methodist Church of Minonk; he enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals, gardening, fishing, watching westerns, golfing, and spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Wilson was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Wilson is survived by his wife, Dorothy; 5 children, Sherri (Dave) Stokowski, Randy Wilson, Jani Wilson, Steve (Kelly) Wilson, and Danny Wilson; 9 grandchildren, Marisa (Jason) Buchanan, Ryan (Erin) Hill, Craig (Jessica) Stokowski, Jacob (Kacinda) Helfers, Jenny (Dan) Eades, Kurt (Amy) Wilson, Chelsea (Everett) Pettit, Alex (fiancee, Beth Lindgren) Wilson, and Drew Wilson; a step-granddaughter, Grace Matic; 2 step-grandsons, Cory (Jessica) Stokowski and Chad Helfers; 12 great-grandchildren, Kade and Kaya Buchanan, Avery, Audrey, and Scarlet Hill, Noah, Jack, and Quinn Stokowski, Drake and Cynthia Helfers, and Jaxon and Mason Pettit; and a step-great-grandchild, Sophia Fillipponi; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Arthur D. Wilson; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Arthur Wilson as an expression of our sympathy.
