2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Angela "Angie" Harlow who passed away on |
4 | | January 8, 2015; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Angela Harlow was born in North Chicago on January |
6 | | 13, 1925 to Anton and Frances Jesenovec; she married Melvin |
7 | | Harlow in 1974; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Angela Harlow worked in the office at the United |
9 | | States Envelope Company/Westvaco for 45 years, retiring in |
10 | | 1988; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Angela Harlow enjoyed traveling throughout the |
12 | | United States, but her favorite trips were the visits to her |
13 | | parent's homeland, the country of Slovenia, where she enjoyed |
14 | | the country's beauty and spending time with her relatives |
15 | | there; she spoke and wrote the language fluently; and |
16 | | WHEREAS, Angela Harlow was a former member of Mother of God |
17 | | Church, where she sang in the choir for many years, and later |
18 | | joined Queen of Peace Church/Most Blessed Trinity Parish, |
19 | | continuing in the choir; she was involved in other church |
20 | | activities such as Bake Sales, Rummage Sales, and funeral |
21 | | luncheons; and |

1 | | WHEREAS, Angela Harlow was a lifelong member of St. Mary |
2 | | #79 KSKJ (American Slovenian Catholic Union), where she served |
3 | | as an officer for over 35 years; she was active with the |
4 | | Greater North Chicago Senior Citizens' Club, the Steelworker's |
5 | | Retiree Club, and Senior Circle; and |
6 | | WHEREAS, Angela Harlow was a true and loyal Chicago Cubs' |
7 | | fan, attending many home and away games throughout the years |
8 | | with her husband and her nieces and nephews; she also enjoyed |
9 | | following the Chicago Bulls, cheering them on from the comforts |
10 | | of home; and |
11 | | WHEREAS, Angela Harlow was an avid bowler in her younger |
12 | | days, bowling in local leagues as well as tournaments; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Angela Harlow was preceded in death by her |
14 | | parents; her brother, Tony; and her sister, Frances; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Angela Harlow is survived by her husband, Melvin; |
16 | | her sister, Mary Chamernik; her sister-in-law, Evelyn Haas; and |
17 | | many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
|
18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
19 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of |
20 | | Angela "Angie" Harlow, and extend our sincere condolences to |
