| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of William Carl Limacher, D.D.S. of Joliet, |
| 4 | | who passed away on January 4, 2015; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Limacher was born on August 29, 1916 in Joliet |
| 6 | | to Dr. John and Lillian Limacher; he graduated from St. Raymond |
| 7 | | Catholic School and attended De La Salle High School; he was |
| 8 | | the valedictorian of the first graduating class of Joliet |
| 9 | | Catholic High School; he played on the golf teams at De La |
| 10 | | Salle, Joliet Catholic, and Loyola; he graduated from Loyola |
| 11 | | Dental School in 1939 and was awarded the coveted Blue Key |
| 12 | | Award for Academic Excellence and the Omicron Kappa Epsilon |
| 13 | | National Honor Society for Excellence in Dentistry and |
| 14 | | Scholastic grades; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Limacher began his dental residency at the |
| 16 | | United States Marine Hospital on Staten Island, New York; after |
| 17 | | Pearl Harbor, he applied for a dental commission in the Dental |
| 18 | | Corp of the United States Navy and received the Commission of |
| 19 | | Lt. Junior Grade; before serving in Okinawa, he was stationed |
| 20 | | at the Naval Air Technical Training Base in Norman, Oklahoma, |
| 21 | | where he married Billie Louise Ratliff; and |
| 22 | | WHEREAS, After the war, Dr. Limacher returned home to |

| 1 | | Joliet, raised his family, and practiced dentistry for 75 |
| 2 | | years, 24 of them with his father; and
|
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Limacher was President of the Aescalapian |
| 4 | | Society, President of the St. Raymond Holy Name Society, a |
| 5 | | founding Member of St. Paul the Apostle Parish, President of |
| 6 | | the Joliet Catholic Parents Association, and President of the |
| 7 | | Joliet Country Club, where he was a member since 1946; he |
| 8 | | supported many charitable causes with his time, money, and |
| 9 | | dentistry; in 2005, he was awarded the De La Salle Award by |
| 10 | | Lewis University; he taught his entire family, children, |
| 11 | | grandchildren, in-laws, and great-grandchildren to play golf; |
| 12 | | and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Limacher is survived by his wife, Billie; his |
| 14 | | 4 children, William Patrick (Sandra), James Thomas (Agnes), |
| 15 | | Mary Therese (Ronald) Dell, and Susan Louise (Douglas) Parrett; |
| 16 | | his grandchildren, Eli (Jodi) Limacher, Kirk (Hillary) |
| 17 | | Limacher, Meghan (Brian) Grienenberger, Zachary Limacher, |
| 18 | | Catherine Limacher, Jacob (Caroline) Dell, Adam (Lisa) Dell, |
| 19 | | Mariah Dell, Elizabeth Dell, John (Crystal) Parrett, and Anne |
| 20 | | Parrett; and his great-grandchildren, Andrew, George, Henry, |
| 21 | | Ava, Audrey, and Amelia Limacher; therefore, be it
