SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of former Pontiac Police Chief William 
4Carter, who passed away on February 20, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, William Carter began working at the Pontiac Police 
6Department on May 20, 1970 and spent over 23 years with the 
7department; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, William Carter became Chief of the Pontiac Police 
9Department in 1988; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, William Carter retired in September of 1993; he 
11became a leader for Mobile Team Unit 8, which trained and kept 
12police officers up to speed with the changing methods of the 
13profession; and
  
 
  
14    WHEREAS, William Carter was respected and admired by his 
15fellow officers, both as a leader and as a law enforcement 
16professional; therefore, be it
  
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of 
19former Pontiac Police Chief William Carter, and extend our 
20sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew

1and loved him; and be it further
  
 
2    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
3presented to the family of William Carter as an expression of 
4our deepest sympathy.
