SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Alfred Bott, who passed away on February 23, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Alfred Bott was born on November 15, 1930 in Danville; his parents were Roy and Mildred Bott; he married Ruth McCulloch in 1974; and

WHEREAS, Alfred Bott graduated from Danville High School in 1949; he subsequently served his country during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, Alfred Bott worked as a union representative and was a charter member of the Labor Management Board; he also served on the United Way Board, the Vermilion County Board for 14 years, the Civic Center Board for 19 years, the Danville Sanitation Board for 9 years, and the Machinist Union for 23 years; and

WHEREAS, Alfred Bott was a member of the Olive Branch in Danville, where he achieved the rank of 32nd Degree with the Masons; and

WHEREAS, Alfred Bott enjoyed traveling coast to coast with his good friends in the motor home he and his wife owned; he also enjoyed fishing trips with his fishing buddies, camping, and watching Clint Eastwood movies; and

WHEREAS, Alfred Bott is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mildred; a son, Robby Bott; a brother, Dave Bott; and a sister-in-law, Betty Bott; and

WHEREAS, Alfred Bott is survived by his wife, Ruth Bott; his daughters, Elaine Treadway Pfeifer, Linda (Tim) Walsh, and Lori Treadway Murphy; 9 grandchildren, Brittany (Jeppy Johansen) Bott, Corey Bott, Michael Pfeifer, Cheri Pfeifer, Amanda (Mike) Murphy Allen, Rebecca Murphy, Alexis (Justin) Walsh Wagle, Brooke Walsh and Brad Walsh; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Alfred Bott; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Alfred Bott as an expression of our sympathy.
