SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Larry "Buster" Reed, who passed away on
4February 15, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Larry Reed was born on March 31, 1947 in Chicago;
6his parents were James and Daisy Reed; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Larry Reed attended Skinner Elementary School and
8DuSable Upper Education Center High School, where he played in
9the school's drum and bugle corps; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Larry Reed retired from the ETA hand2mind Company
11in 1998 after almost 30 years of service as an orders manager;
12and
 
13    WHEREAS, Larry Reed often spent his free time reading the
14paper, watching the Chicago Bears and Bulls, fussing at the
15Chicago Cubs, listening to the blues, dancing and stepping,
16talking with friends and family, and barbecuing; he also
17enjoyed fishing, watching sports, playing softball and
18basketball with his brothers, card games, and parties; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Larry Reed will be remembered fondly by those who
20knew and loved him as a kind, gentle, and protective father and

1a fun loving and friendly man who shared what he had with those
2who needed it most; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Larry Reed was preceded in death by his wife,
4Karen Ann Chambers-Reed; his parents; his grandparents,
5Charlie and Fannie Reed and Jacob and Viola Walker; and many
6other friends and family members; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Larry Reed is survived by 5 children, Larry
8Stribling, Eugene Reed, Latrice Reed, Marcelus Chambers, and
9Simone Chambers; 9 siblings, Frances Chestleigh, James Reed,
10Jesse Pitts, Robert Reed, Arthur Reed, Mae Ethel Williams,
11Sydney Reed, Lola Reed, and Fannie Mae Washington; and many
12cousins, nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
15family and friends, mourn the passing of Larry "Buster" Reed;
16and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Larry Reed as an expression of our
19sympathy.
