| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Larry "Buster" Reed, who passed away on | ||||||
| 4 | February 15, 2015; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Larry Reed was born on March 31, 1947 in Chicago; | ||||||
| 6 | his parents were James and Daisy Reed; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Larry Reed attended Skinner Elementary School and | ||||||
| 8 | DuSable Upper Education Center High School, where he played in | ||||||
| 9 | the school's drum and bugle corps; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Larry Reed retired from the ETA hand2mind Company | ||||||
| 11 | in 1998 after almost 30 years of service as an orders manager; | ||||||
| 12 | and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Larry Reed often spent his free time reading the | ||||||
| 14 | paper, watching the Chicago Bears and Bulls, fussing at the | ||||||
| 15 | Chicago Cubs, listening to the blues, dancing and stepping, | ||||||
| 16 | talking with friends and family, and barbecuing; he also | ||||||
| 17 | enjoyed fishing, watching sports, playing softball and | ||||||
| 18 | basketball with his brothers, card games, and parties; and | ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Larry Reed will be remembered fondly by those who | ||||||
| 20 | knew and loved him as a kind, gentle, and protective father and | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | a fun loving and friendly man who shared what he had with those | ||||||
| 2 | who needed it most; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Larry Reed was preceded in death by his wife, | ||||||
| 4 | Karen Ann Chambers-Reed; his parents; his grandparents, | ||||||
| 5 | Charlie and Fannie Reed and Jacob and Viola Walker; and many | ||||||
| 6 | other friends and family members; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Larry Reed is survived by 5 children, Larry | ||||||
| 8 | Stribling, Eugene Reed, Latrice Reed, Marcelus Chambers, and | ||||||
| 9 | Simone Chambers; 9 siblings, Frances Chestleigh, James Reed, | ||||||
| 10 | Jesse Pitts, Robert Reed, Arthur Reed, Mae Ethel Williams, | ||||||
| 11 | Sydney Reed, Lola Reed, and Fannie Mae Washington; and many | ||||||
| 12 | cousins, nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 14 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
| 15 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Larry "Buster" Reed; | ||||||
| 16 | and be it further
| ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 18 | presented to the family of Larry Reed as an expression of our | ||||||
| 19 | sympathy.
