SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Cyril Henry Goetten of Jerseyville, who
4passed away on July 25, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Cyril Goetten was born in Fieldon on July 5, 1917
6to Anthony and Elizabeth (nee Beiermann) Goetten; he married
7Margaret C. Pohlman in Carrollton on June 14, 1950; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Cyril Goetten was employed at Olin Corp. for 42
9years, but was a farmer at heart; he began farming as a young
10boy and continued to do what he loved until retiring at the age
11of 94; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Cyril Goetten was a dedicated member of the Holy
13Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville; he was also a member of
14the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 492, and the VFW,
15all in Jerseyville; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Cyril Goetten was preceded in death by his parents
17and his 2 sisters, Bernadine Huebener and Genevieve Goetten;
18and
 
19    WHEREAS, Cyril Goetten is survived by his wife of 64 years,
20Margaret; his 3 sons and daughters-in-law, John and Connie

2Goetten; his 5 grandchildren and their spouses, Chad and Lynn
3Goetten, Tiffany and Matt Williams, Christopher Goetten, Alex
4Goetten, and Andrew Goetten; and his 6 great-grandchildren;
5therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Cyril Henry Goetten, and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Cyril Goetten as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
