SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Bessie Lee Williams, who passed away on
4March 13, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bessie Williams was born in Mt. Bayou, Mississippi
6on May 30, 1930 to Eddie and Minola Hunter; she attended
7schools in Shelby, Mississippi; she married Clarence Williams
8on April 25, 1948 and they settled in Chicago in 1951; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bessie Williams was a member of Shiloh Missionary
10Baptist Church; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Bessie Williams was preceded in death by her
12husband of 57 years, Clarence; her daughter, Diane Ramey; her 2
13grandsons, Fredrick Williams and Jerome Bennett, Jr.; her
14parents; and 7 of her siblings; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Bessie Williams is survived by her 5 daughters,
16Ethel Joyner (Reynold), Mildred Bennett (Jerome, Sr.), Tammy
17Brown (Arch), Tisa, and Michele Toney (Kenneth); her 6 sons,
18Clarence, Jr., Jimmy (Jeanette), James (Darlene), Henry
19(Venetria), Kenneth, and Michael (Alberta); her 2 brothers,
20Council and Henry Hunter; her 29 grandchildren; her 42
21great-grandchildren; her 4 great-great-grandchildren; her

1God-daughter, Cynthia Cooley; her God-son, Tommie Cooper; a
2host of other relatives; a special friend, Lorraine Hailey; and
3a host of other friends; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Bessie Lee Williams, and extend our sincere condolences to her
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Bessie Williams as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
