SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of O. Charlene "Char" Misener of East
4Peoria, who passed away on March 15, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Charlene Misener was born in Flora on May 21, 1935
6to Charles and Vivian (nee Taylor) McGrew; she was previously
7married to Clarence Rabe, Roy Rennau, and Richard Cox; she
8married Alan H. Misener on August 18, 1979 in Peoria and
9together they have celebrated 35 years of marriage; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Charlene Misener worked in the restaurant, hotel,
11and bar businesses and in medical offices throughout her life;
12she previously owned and operated Yesterdays on S.W. Washington
13Street in Peoria and Char's Diner in Bartonville; she last
14worked at Town & Country Healthcare in Eureka and at the Brass
15Key Lounge in East Peoria; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Charlene Misener was a member of the Happy Hollow
17Lake Association and a former member of the Heart of Illinois
18Liquor Association; she loved camping and vacationing in
19Florida and Wisconsin; her favorite times were spent in the
20presence of her family and close friends; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Charlene Misener was preceded in death by her

1parents; her daughter-in-law, Candy Rabe; and 3 grandchildren;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, Charlene Misener is survived by her husband, Alan;
4her children, Michael (Pam) Rabe, Patrick Rabe, Douglas (Nancy
5Whitehurst) Rabe, Patsy Greuter, Jay (Kathy Whittles) Rennau,
6and Tina (Joe) Propst; her step-sons, Tod (Cindy) Misener and
7Derek Misener; her 22 grandchildren; her 19
8great-grandchildren; her brother, Marion "Bud" (Lois) McGrew;
9and her sister, Sandi (Jim) Purtscher; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12O. Charlene "Char" Misener, and extend our sincere condolences
13to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
14it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Charlene Misener as an expression of
17our deepest sympathy.
