SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert Waldo "Bob" Frantz of Huntley, who
4passed away on November 14, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Frantz was born in Kansas City, Missouri on
6August 5, 1926 to Olna and Leita (nee Rhoads) Frantz; he
7married Ruth in 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri; he served in the
8United States Army; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bob Frantz worked for Motorola in microwave
10communications; he was a Roselle board member and was elected
11Mayor of Roselle in 1969; later, he was employed by Santa Fe
12Railroad and MCI; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bob Frantz had a longtime passion for private
14flying and owned 7 different airplanes at various times, most
15recently a Piper Arrow 6398C; he was proud to have received the
16FAA Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award in 2013; his flying
17career included over 7,500 hours and Private, Commercial,
18Instrument, Seaplane, Multiengine, and ATP ratings; he flew all
19over the United States and to many other countries; he enjoyed
20long time active membership in the Northeast Pilots
21Association, the Illinois Pilots Association, and the United
22States Pilots Association; and

1    WHEREAS, Bob Frantz was preceded in death by his son,
2Randall David Frantz, and his sisters, Mildred deVries, Dorothy
3(Joseph) Hawkins, and Marilyn Burke; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Bob Frantz is survived by his wife of 65 years,
5Ruth Ellen (Ellis) Frantz; his children, Margaret Gail (Chuck)
6Elmer, Robert Gregory Frantz, and Shirley Jean Frantz; his
7grandchildren, Matthias Elmer, Theodore Elmer, and Christopher
8Elmer; his brother-in-law, Albert (Donna) Ellis; and several
9nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Robert Waldo "Bob" Frantz, and extend our sincere condolences
13to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
14it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Bob Frantz as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
