SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lawrence R. Heckathorne of McHenry, who
4passed away on February 20, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lawrence Heckathorne was raised on a small farm on
6Pleasant Valley Road in Woodstock; he attended schools in
7Woodstock Community School District 200 and excelled in sports,
8including football, track, and baseball; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Lawrence Heckathorne worked in construction in
10Illinois, Wisconsin, and Arizona until 2007; his next career
11was as an on-board service attendant for Amtrak, with his
12favorite run being Chicago to Portland, Oregon and back aboard
13the Empire Builder; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Lawrence Heckathorne enjoyed cooking and
15improving many dishes with his own touch; he also loved the
16music of Sarah Brightman; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Lawrence Heckathorne was preceded in death by his
18father; his maternal grandparents, John and Aimee Emery; and
19his step-father, Bill Adams; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Lawrence Heckathorne is survived by his daughter,

1Rachael Hansen; his mother, Janet Adams; his brother, Eugene
2(Dorothy) Heckathorne; his sister, Marilyn Kay (John) Hill; his
3aunt, Donna (Earl) Hass; and his best friend of 48 years, David
4(Wendy) Mucha; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Lawrence R. Heckathorne, and extend our sincere condolences to
8his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Lawrence Heckathorne as an
12expression of our deepest sympathy.
