SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lezlie Kay Randall of Tilton, who passed
4away on March 18, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lezlie Randall was born on August 17, 1958 in
6Danville; her parents were Herbert W. Randall, Elizabeth (nee
7Butler), and Bill Learnard; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Lezlie Randall graduated magna cum laude from
9Eastern Illinois University with a bachelor's degree in
10English; she also graduated from the University of Illinois
11with honors, earning her Masters of Education degree with a
12major in educational and organizational leadership; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Lezlie Randall was an English teacher at Catlin
14High School for 18 years; she also served at various other
15schools within the county for many years; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Lezlie Randall had a passion for teaching and
17enjoyed all of the kids she was able to influence; she also
18worked very hard on the Catlin and Jamaica school
19consolidation; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Lezlie Randall loved reading, art, conversation;

1she also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her
2grandkids, and her students; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Lezlie Randall was preceded in death by her
4father, Herbert W. Randall, and a daughter, Megan Elizabeth
5McMillin; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Lezlie Randall is survived by 3 children, Andrew
7(Amy) McMillin, Kenton (Toni Kasprowicz) McMillin, and Grace
8(Ross) Wilson; 3 siblings, Robin (Mike) Fetters, Troy (Julie)
9Randall, and Damon Randall; a special stepbrother, Scott
10(Kathy) Learnard; 4 step-siblings, Mark (Lori) Learnard, Clark
11Learnard, Beth (Tom) Dekker, and Blaine Bensyl; 2
12grandchildren, Kai and Mallie Kate McMillin; 4 nieces and
13nephews, Abigail Elizabeth (Tyler) Gutteridge, Zach Randall,
14Samantha Randall, and Damarah Randall; and many close friends;
15therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
18family and friends, mourn the passing of Lezlie Kay Randall;
19and be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Lezlie Randall as an expression of
22our sympathy.
