SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Susan Kay Browning of Perry, who passed
4away on January 30, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Susan Browning was born in Quincy on November 7,
61956 to Marvin and Leah (nee Potter) Hull; she graduated from
7Liberty High School in 1974 and attended what is now Truman
8State University in Kirksville, Missouri; she married Robert L.
9Browning on October 31, 1976 in Chambersburg; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Susan Browning and her husband owned and operated
11Kaylynn's Kafe in Perry during the early 2000s; she recently
12retired as Secretary for the Regional Office of Education in
13Pittsfield; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Susan Browning was an active member of the Fish
15Hook United Brethren Church, where she served as worship leader
16and as a Sunday school teacher; she also served as Treasurer of
17the Fairmount Township Sunday School Convention; she was a
1820-year member of the Pike County 4-H Foundation Board, which
19raised money for local 4-H programs, and she was a leader of
20the Perry 4-H Stitchers Club for 6 years; she liked to travel,
21sew, craft, and bake and was especially known for her delicious
22pies; she was also active in State and local politics for the

1Republican Party; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Susan Browning was preceded in death by her
3daughter, Kaylynn; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Susan Browning is survived by her husband, Robert;
5her mother, Leah Hull; her father, Marvin Hull; her 3 children:
6Jason, Jeff and his wife, Nicole, and Ali Nicole; her 2
7grandsons, Jakob Browning and Kalob Browning; her sister, Peggy
8Ulm; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Howell and Jean
9Browning; her 5 sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews; and
10cousins; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Susan Kay Browning, and extend our sincere condolences to her
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Susan Browning as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
