SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Robert B. Ash of Urbana, who passed away 
4on April 15, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Ash was born in New York City on May 20, 1935 
6to William and Rose (nee Fink) Ash; he married Carol Schwartz 
7in New York City on January 29, 1956; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Bob Ash joined the mathematics department at the 
9University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1963; he wrote 13 
10textbooks; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Bob Ash enjoyed learning in general and had most 
12recently started studying physics; he also enjoyed jogging; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Bob Ash was preceded in death by his parents; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Bob Ash is survived by his wife, Carol, and his 
15brother, Charlie Ash; therefore, be it
  
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
18Robert B. Ash, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
19family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
