SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert R. "Bob" Fuchs of Freemont, who
4passed away on November 21, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Fuchs was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on
6June 18, 1943 to Gilbert and Mary (nee Purcell) Fuchs; he
7graduated from St. Elizabeth High School in Pittsburgh in 1961;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Bob Fuchs and his wife, Jo Ann, moved to Ohio in
101966, and soon after, he began his banking career; he was a
11commercial lending officer for Liberty National Bank/Bank One
12for 30 years; prior to his retirement, he was a commercial
13lending officer for the Old Fort Banking Company; he served as
14Treasurer for 19 years on the board of the Community Health
15Services and also as Secretary/Treasurer with the Sandusky
16County Agricultural Society for 7 years; throughout his banking
17career, he served on numerous committees in the community; he
18served as President of the parish council and as President of
19St. Ann School Board; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Bob Fuchs enjoyed golfing, sailing, and watching
21baseball and football, especially the Cleveland Indians and the
22Pittsburgh Steelers; he spent his recent years involved with

1greyhound adoption; he was the Treasurer for the North Coast
2Greyhound Connection for the last 8 years and made a difference
3for hundreds of retired racing greyhounds looking for adoptive
4homes; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Fuchs was preceded in death by his parents;
6his 3 brothers; his 3 sisters; and his canine companions; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Bob Fuchs is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jo
8Ann; his daughter, Stephanie (Converse W. Keefer, Jr.); his
9canine companions, Rooney and Ty; and several nieces and
10nephews; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Robert R. "Bob" Fuchs, and extend our sincere condolences to
14his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Bob Fuchs as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
