SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Winn C. Davidson of Palatine, who passed
4away on November 22, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Winn Davidson was born in Kansas City, Missouri on
6June 8, 1938 to Harry S. and Myrtle (nee Johnson) Davidson; he
7graduated from McHenry High School in 1956 and went on to
8attend the University of Illinois at Chicago and Northwestern
9University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in business;
10he lettered in wrestling at both universities; in 1967, while
11working at the First National Bank of Chicago, he graduated
12from John Marshall Law School; he married Linda Leshuk on
13December 26, 1979 in Woodstock; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Winn Davidson practiced law in Palatine; in 1975,
15he founded the Bank of Palatine, serving as President and
16Chairman of the Board for 39 years; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Winn Davidson served the community in many ways;
18he was the President of the Palatine Chamber of Commerce, a
19member of the Palatine Police Pension Board, a member of the
20Palatine Jaycees, and an honorary member of the Rotary Club of
21Palatine; he was recognized by John Marshall Law School with a
22Distinguished Service Award in 1987; throughout his career, he

1was also a successful real estate developer, managing
2partnerships in Illinois and Arizona; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Winn Davidson was preceded in death by his parents
4and his first wife, Barbara "Bambi" (nee Marticke) Davidson;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Winn Davidson is survived by his wife, Linda; his
7children, Laurie Ann (Jeffrey) Schmid, Craig W. (Kimie)
8Davidson, Linda S. (Steven) Isberg, Clark C. Davidson, Lesley
9C. (Eric) Malmstrom, and Lisa M. Davidson; his grandchildren,
10Stephanie, Dale, Allison, Diane, John, Kyle, Katrina, Layton,
11and Lauren; his great-grandson, Adrian; his brother, Lyle
12(Irene) Davidson; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Winn C. Davidson, and extend our sincere condolences to his
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Winn Davidson as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
