SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Elroy H. Becker of Harvard, who passed
4away on February 20, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Elroy Becker was born in Athens, Wisconsin on
6March 6, 1926 to Paul and Anna (nee Fuss) Becker; he married
7Darlene Stevens; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Elroy Becker worked on the Ira Thompson Farm north
9of Poplar Grove; after retiring from farming, he worked
10carpentry for all of his friends around the area; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Elroy Becker looked forward to having his family
12over for Sunday dinners; he enjoyed fishing and building things
13with his children and grandchildren; he had a passion for
14gardening and a love for music and he was known to be light on
15his feet; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Elroy Becker was preceded in death by his parents;
17his son, Steve Becker; his brother, Harold Becker; his 2
18sisters, Elda and Elmyra Garbrecht; his 2 grandchildren,
19Brandon and Ember; his 2 great-grandchildren; his 3
20step-brothers, Herbert, Arthur, and Erwin Becker; and his
21step-sister, Ruth McCollugh; and

1    WHEREAS, Elroy Becker is survived by his children, Roy
2(Linda) Becker, Harvey (Dorothy) Becker, Audrey (Thomas)
3Haynie, and Kay (Gary) Rath; his 16 grandchildren; his numerous
4great and great-great-grandchildren; and his 2 half-sisters,
5Arlene (Becker) Kohley and MaryAnn (Gunner) Rasmussen;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Elroy H. Becker, and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Elroy Becker as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
