SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Edward Gartley, who passed away on March 
419, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Edward Gartley was born on July 4, 1925 in 
6Waukegan; his parents were Edward and Helen Gartley; he married 
7Agnes Budak on September 4, 1948; he was a lifelong resident of 
8the City of Waukegan; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, After his honorable discharge from the United 
10States Air Force on July 20, 1946, Edward Gartley graduated 
11from navigational school in Texas, where he trained new 
12recruits; he subsequently worked at the Great Lakes Naval 
13Station for 38 years until his retirement on June 30, 1985; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Following his retirement, Edward Gartley enjoyed 
15golfing, gardening, and spending time with his children and 
16grandchildren; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Edward Gartley was preceded in death by his wife 
18of 42 years, Agnes; his parents; a son-in-law, Ray; his special 
19friend, Florence Jesenovec; and his great-grandsons, Finn and 
20Jack; and

1    WHEREAS, Edward Gartley is survived by his children, 
2Preston, Patty, Barbara, Kevin (Marsha), and Jeff; his 
3grandchildren, Rachel (Sean), Kevin, Jr. (Lisa), Amanda 
4(Kelley), Beau, Clancy, Bailey, Vinnie, Blair, Sydney, and 
5Jake; his great grandchildren, Henry, Rhys, and Keri; and his 
6brother, Dick; therefore, be it
  
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
9family and friends, mourn the passing of Edward Gartley; and be 
10it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to the family of Edward Gartley as an expression of 
13our sympathy.
