SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joseph C. Marocco, who passed away on February 4, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Marocco was born in Joliet and spent most of his life in Waukegan; his parents were Frank and Noreen (nee Maielli) Marocco; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Marocco served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Marocco was the operator of Marocco's Pizza and Joe's Lounge in Waukegan, where he sponsored many city championship softball teams, bowling and cribbage leagues; he also owned Marocco's Lounge; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Marocco was a member of the Waukegan Charter Boat Association and operated the Barbra Jo Charters on Lake Michigan; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Marocco enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap-shooting, playing handball at the Waukegan YMCA, golfing, wood-working, and relaxing in his back yard reading books; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Marocco was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Frank; his brother-in-law, Cal Blair; and his sister-in-law, Geri Marocco; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Marocco is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara (nee Glogovsky); his children, Carla Jo (David) Roy, Joey (girlfriend, Daphne) and Gina Jo (Greg) Moisio; his grandchildren, Danielle (Ross Haseman), Katie, Nikki, and Michael Roy, and Giana Jo, Jolina Jo, and Milana Jo Moisio; 3 brothers, Wayne, Norman (Helen), and Dale (Janet) Marocco; his sister, Noreen Blair; his sister-in-law, Anne Marocco; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Joseph C. Marocco; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joseph Marocco as an expression of our sympathy.
