SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Martha (nee Koziar) Pish of Zion, who
4passed away on April 10, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Martha Pish was born in Olyphant, Pennsylvania on
6September 1, 1916; she married Alex Pish in Pennsylvania and
7they moved to North Chicago in 1941; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Martha Pish worked for Abbott Laboratories for 15
9years; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Martha Pish helped start a sewing club with many
11of her friends that lasted for 50 years of which she was the
12lone survivor; she kept everyone warm with her homemade knitted
13slippers; she also was active with the senior citizens club in
14North Chicago; she lived at Rolling Hills Place for several
15years and made many friends with the residents and staff; she
16was a member of the Church of St. Patrick in Wadsworth; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Martha Pish was preceded in death by her husband
18of 75 years, Alex; her brother, Michael Koziar; and her 3
19sisters, Shirley Farretti, Anna Tornambe, and Olga Partnova;

1    WHEREAS, Martha Pish is survived by her son, William
2(Dorothy); her daughter, Diane (John) Link; her 2 sisters,
3Julia Pish and Mary Pegula; her brother, John Koziar; her 7
4grandchildren, Bill Pish, Jr., Suzann Caccamo, Gloria
5Westphal, Jeffery Link, Timothy Pish, David Link, and Mary
6Link; and her 10 great-grandchildren, Jill, Kate, Rico, Kelly,
7Ben, Alex, Rhett, Bailey, Isabella, and Nicholas; therefore, be
8it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Martha Pish, and extend our sincere condolences to her family,
12her friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Martha Pish as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
