SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Jimmie R. Rogers, who passed away on 
4March 18, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Jimmie Rogers was born on April 8, 1931 in 
6Corning, Arkansas and was a former resident of Rockford, Lake 
7Forest, and Lake Bluff; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Jimmie Rogers was a veteran of the United States 
9Army and served as an Army Ranger in combat during the Korean 
10War, having attained the rank of Master Sergeant; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, After his service in the Army, Jimmie Rogers 
12served as an officer with the Lake Forest Police Department; 
13and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Jimmie Rogers was a past president of the Illinois 
15Police Association; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Jimmie Rogers was preceded in death by his wife, 
17Judy Rogers; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Jimmie Rogers is survived by a son, Michael 
19(Linda) Rogers; 6 grandchildren, Chesleigh Rogers, Emma (Luke)

1Sims, and Grace, Matthew, Katherine, and Andrew Rogers; and a 
2sister, Melba Rinaldo; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
5family and friends, mourn the passing of Jimmie R. Rogers; and 
6be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Jimmie  Rogers as an expression of 
9our sympathy.
