SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Michael L. Hagi, Sr. of Spring Grove, who
4passed away on April 7, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Michael Hagi, Sr. was born on July 7, 1944 in
6Evanston; his parents were Christian M. Gerber and Virginia
7Pauly; he was raised by Albert Hagi, Sr.; he married Jacqualine
8A. Nickels on March 31, 1973; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Michael Hagi, Sr. was raised in Chicago and
10graduated from Lakeview High School; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Michael Hagi, Sr. was an entrepreneur in the
12Spring Grove area for over 30 years; he was the proprietor of
13Main Street Foods in Spring Grove for over 30 years and the
14proprietor of Mike's Auto Works since 1994; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Michael Hagi, Sr. was a former Captain of the
16Spring Grove Fire Department and a Fire Prevention Officer; he
17also served on the Spring Grove School Board; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Michael Hagi, Sr. loved cars and spending time
19with his family; and

1    WHEREAS, Michael Hagi, Sr. was preceded in death by his
2parents and a sister-in-law, Denise Hagi; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Michael Hagi, Sr. is survived by his wife of 42
4years, Jackie; 2 children, Michael (Kamie) Hagi, Jr. and Carla
5(Brad Cooper) Hagi; 2 grandchildren, Giada and Ryan; a sister,
6Fran (Dale) Johnson; a brother, Al Hagi; and many nieces,
7nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
10family and friends, mourn the passing of Michael L. Hagi, Sr.;
11and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Michael Hagi, Sr. as an expression
14of our sympathy.
