SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jerry Sossong of McHenry, who passed away
4on March 9, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry Sossong was born in Chicago on January 26,
61951 to Clarence and Anna (nee Gravenstock) Sossong; he served
7in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969 to
81971; and
 
9    WHEREAS, For the majority of his career, Jerry Sossong was
10a carpenter; most recently, he worked for G. A. Johnson and Son
11in Evanston; previously, he was employed by R.D. Thiel; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Jerry Sossong enjoyed restoring old cars,
13especially his Studebaker, with his nephew, Craig; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Jerry Sossong was preceded in death by his
15parents; his son, Tim Sossong; his former wife, Cathleen
16Sossong; and his brother-in-law, James Doherty; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jerry Sossong is survived by his 5 children, Chris
18(Laura Costa) Sossong, Vince (Penny) Sossong, Julie (Kevin)
19Stark, Jonny (Kimmy) Sossong, and Kathryn (Dave) Blok; his 12
20grandchildren, Kerri, Mickayla, Gage, Taso, Madasyn, Vinnie,

1Chase, Philomena, Dino, Yanni, Aedan, and Adalynn; his sister,
2Mary Ann Doherty; and his 2 brothers, Sam (Judith) Sossong and
3Clarence (Ann) Sossong; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Jerry Sossong, and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Jerry Sossong as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
