SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gregory M. Campbell of Carlinville, who
4passed away on April 30, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gregory Campbell was born in Jacksonville on
6September 17, 1950 to Richard and Etta Campbell; he grew up in
7the Northwestern School District, where he was active in all
8sports that were offered there; he spent 2 years in Carlinville
9schools, where he also participated in all sports and held the
10pole vault records for many years in Macoupin County; he
11married Brenda Allen on November 29, 1970 in Waverly; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Gregory Campbell learned about semi-trucks from
13his Grandpa Merle Campbell who taught him how to drive while he
14was still in high school; he drove a truck most of his married
15life except when he helped raise 300 head of sows on the farm
16in Scottville; he was also the Multi-Township Tax Assessor for
178 years for Scottville, Western Mound, Barr, and Chesterfield
18townships; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Gregory Campbell enjoyed playing competitive
20softball for the Palmyra Playboys; he attended Midwest
21Christian Center in Jacksonville; and

1    WHEREAS, Gregory Campbell was preceded in death by his
2parents and his brother, Michael Van Campbell; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Gregory Campbell is survived by his wife, Brenda;
4his 3 sons, Gregory Scott Campbell (Hallie), Brock Matthew
5Campbell (Carrie), and Colt Allen Campbell (Katie
6McClennahan); his grandchildren, Clayton, Garrett, Jake,
7Kylee, and Dirk; his 2 sisters, Lisa Cox (Danny) and Catherine
8Fairfield; his mother's husband, Charlie Frank; his 2 brothers,
9Doug Campbell and Chris Campbell (Kathy); and several aunts,
10uncles, nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Gregory M. Campbell, and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Gregory Campbell as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
