| 5 | | WHEREAS, Lois Russell was born on November 6, 1924 to Fay

| 6 | | and Ruby Painter Burkhart; she graduated from Dallas City
High |
| 7 | | School in 1942 as the salutatorian; she then graduated from Gem |
| 8 | | City Business College in
Quincy; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, After graduation, Lois Russell worked
at Camp |
| 10 | | Ellis near Macomb; she married Delmar
Briscoe Russell in Dallas |
| 11 | | City on July 18, 1943; later, she worked for the LaHarpe
|
| 12 | | Creamery, the Gladstone Grain Company, and the Gulfport River |
| 13 | | Terminal; she sold
Pioneer Seed Corn as well as being a |
| 14 | | full-time mother and homemaker; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Lois Russell enjoyed knitting and made many baby |
| 16 | | blankets for her children,
grandchildren, and |
| 17 | | great-grandchildren; she loved vegetable and flower
gardening |
| 18 | | and solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles; she also enjoyed
|
| 19 | | playing cards with family, friends, and neighbors, and belonged |
| 20 | | to many
clubs; she was a member of Gladstone United Methodist |
| 21 | | Church, the Order Of The Eastern Star, and the Red
Hat Club; |
