SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Esther C. Day, who passed away on May 1,
42015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Esther Day was born on March 30, 1920 in
6Aguadilla, Puerto Rico; she previously lived in North Chicago
7before living in Libertyville for the past 35 years; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Esther Day was a graduate of the University of
9Puerto Rico; she served as a teacher in the North Chicago
10School District and was a very proficient bilingual teacher;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Esther Day was preceded in death by her first
13husband, Harold W. Miller, and her second husband, Dr. Lawrence
14C. Day; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Esther Day is survived by 4 children, Marylyn
16Miller (Robert Clark), Harold Miller Calvente, Marla Miller
17(the late Miguel Angel Pascual) and Lisa (David) Nyquist; 2
18grandchildren, Felicita (Vincent) Laoang and Joseph (Jing
19Huei) Calvente; 3 great-grandchildren, Caleb, David, and
20Matthew; and a sister, Gloria (Mario) Magat; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
3family and friends, mourn the passing of Esther C. Day; and be
4it further
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to the family of Esther Day as an expression of our
7sympathy.
