| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Esther C. Day, who passed away on May 1, |
| 4 | | 2015; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Esther Day was born on March 30, 1920 in |
| 6 | | Aguadilla, Puerto Rico; she previously lived in North Chicago |
| 7 | | before living in Libertyville for the past 35 years; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Esther Day was a graduate of the University of |
| 9 | | Puerto Rico; she served as a teacher in the North Chicago |
| 10 | | School District and was a very proficient bilingual teacher; |
| 11 | | and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Esther Day was preceded in death by her first |
| 13 | | husband, Harold W. Miller, and her second husband, Dr. Lawrence |
| 14 | | C. Day; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Esther Day is survived by 4 children, Marylyn |
| 16 | | Miller (Robert Clark), Harold Miller Calvente, Marla Miller |
| 17 | | (the late Miguel Angel Pascual) and Lisa (David) Nyquist; 2 |
| 18 | | grandchildren, Felicita (Vincent) Laoang and Joseph (Jing |
| 19 | | Huei) Calvente; 3 great-grandchildren, Caleb, David, and |
| 20 | | Matthew; and a sister, Gloria (Mario) Magat; therefore, be it
