2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Linda Sue Perkins-Lopez; and
|
4 | | WHEREAS, Linda Perkins-Lopez was born on July 18, 1955 in |
5 | | St. Louis, Missouri; her parents were Norma Jean Perkins and |
6 | | Horace Livingston, Jr.; she married Ricardo Lopez in 1999; and
|
7 | | WHEREAS, Linda Perkins-Lopez graduated from Decatur |
8 | | Eisenhower High School in 1973; she subsequently attended |
9 | | Bradley University in Peoria, where she earned her Bachelors of |
10 | | Arts in Psychology in 1976 and her Master of Arts in Clinical |
11 | | Psychology in 1979; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, After finishing her studies in 1979, Linda |
13 | | Perkins-Lopez moved to Chicago, where she worked as a personal |
14 | | banker for a couple of major banks before transitioning to the |
15 | | telecommunications industry; she then enjoyed a distinguished |
16 | | career as an Account Manager for both MCI and eventually AT&T, |
17 | | realizing a long-held career dream; while at AT&T, she received |
18 | | numerous customer service awards; and |
19 | | WHEREAS, Linda Perkins-Lopez was a member of Delta Sigma |
20 | | Theta, Inc.'s Peoria Alumnae Chapter; and

1 | | WHEREAS, Linda Perkins-Lopez enjoyed reading, shopping, |
2 | | traveling, and sampling the cuisine of the many destinations |
3 | | she traveled to, including New Orleans, the Caribbean, and |
4 | | Europe; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Linda Perkins-Lopez is survived by her soulmate, |
6 | | Ricardo Lopez; a son, Mario Lee Sims, Jr.; 3 brothers, |
7 | | Cornelius McGruder, Jeffrey (Sherri) Perkins, and Kerwin |
8 | | Jones; a sister, Lisa Kay (Les) Robinson; 3 extended brothers, |
9 | | Stanford G. Livingston, Mitchel Livingston, and Gregory |
10 | | Livingston; 5 extended sisters, Lynnette Mims, Sheila Watson, |
11 | | Gilda Spencer, Tamara Rubio and Stephanie Nfr; 10 nieces and |
12 | | nephews, Brandon, Jason, Darius, J.J., Jami, Tony, Nikki, |
13 | | Jackson, Mason, and Peyton; her many other family members and |
14 | | devoted friends; and her dog, "Baby Boy" Farley; therefore, be |
15 | | it

16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
17 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her |
18 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Linda Sue |
19 | | Perkins-Lopez; and be it further

20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
21 | | presented to the family of Linda Perkins-Lopez as an expression |
22 | | of our sympathy.
