SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Linda Sue Perkins-Lopez; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Linda Perkins-Lopez was born on July 18, 1955 in
5St. Louis, Missouri; her parents were Norma Jean Perkins and
6Horace Livingston, Jr.; she married Ricardo Lopez in 1999; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Linda Perkins-Lopez graduated from Decatur
8Eisenhower High School in 1973; she subsequently attended
9Bradley University in Peoria, where she earned her Bachelors of
10Arts in Psychology in 1976 and her Master of Arts in Clinical
11Psychology in 1979; and
 
12    WHEREAS, After finishing her studies in 1979, Linda
13Perkins-Lopez moved to Chicago, where she worked as a personal
14banker for a couple of major banks before transitioning to the
15telecommunications industry; she then enjoyed a distinguished
16career as an Account Manager for both MCI and eventually AT&T,
17realizing a long-held career dream; while at AT&T, she received
18numerous customer service awards; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Linda Perkins-Lopez was a member of Delta Sigma
20Theta, Inc.'s Peoria Alumnae Chapter; and

1    WHEREAS, Linda Perkins-Lopez enjoyed reading, shopping,
2traveling, and sampling the cuisine of the many destinations
3she traveled to, including New Orleans, the Caribbean, and
4Europe; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Linda Perkins-Lopez is survived by her soulmate,
6Ricardo Lopez; a son, Mario Lee Sims, Jr.; 3 brothers,
7Cornelius McGruder, Jeffrey (Sherri) Perkins, and Kerwin
8Jones; a sister, Lisa Kay (Les) Robinson; 3 extended brothers,
9Stanford G. Livingston, Mitchel Livingston, and Gregory
10Livingston; 5 extended sisters, Lynnette Mims, Sheila Watson,
11Gilda Spencer, Tamara Rubio and Stephanie Nfr; 10 nieces and
12nephews, Brandon, Jason, Darius, J.J., Jami, Tony, Nikki,
13Jackson, Mason, and Peyton; her many other family members and
14devoted friends; and her dog, "Baby Boy" Farley; therefore, be
15it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
18family and friends, mourn the passing of Linda Sue
19Perkins-Lopez; and be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Linda Perkins-Lopez as an expression
22of our sympathy.
