SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Sarah Lynn Ely, who passed away on May 
410, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Sarah Ely was born on July 12, 1989 in 
6Springfield; his parents were Todd and Vicki (nee Lambert) Ely; 
7she was a lifelong resident of Springfield; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Sarah Ely graduated from Christ the King Grade 
9School and Sacred Heart Griffin High School before earning her 
10teaching degree from Benedictine University; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Sarah Ely taught 4th grade at Pleasant Plains 
12Elementary School as a substitute teacher; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Sarah Ely was actively engaged in helping others 
14through various charities, including Friend in Deed and St. 
15Martin De Porres; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Sarah Ely enjoyed spending time with her niece and 
17her other family members, helping children, watching the St. 
18Louis Cardinals, and boating in the Ozarks with her father; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Sarah Ely is survived by her father, Todd Ely; her

1mother and stepfather, Vicki and Kevin Korte; 3 sisters, Lauren 
2Ely and Rosalee and Jillian Korte; her grandparents, George and 
3Judy Lambert, Jerry and Marion Ely, and Larry and Carolyn 
4Korte; a niece, Lila Ely; and several aunts, uncles, and 
5cousins; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her 
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Sarah Lynn Ely; and be 
9it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Sarah Ely as an expression of our 
12sympathy.
