SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Janette Weatherall, who passed away on
4May 11, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Janette Weatherall was born in St. Louis, Missouri
6on April 19, 1954 to Jim and Doris Weatherall; she lived and
7was educated in East St. Louis; she graduated with a bachelor's
8degree in anthropology and sociology from McKendree College and
9later participated in the Harvard Trade Program; and
 
10    WHEREAS, In 1989, Janette Weatherall relocated to
11Springfield to pursue an employment opportunity with AFSCME
12Local 2000, where she was a Field Staff
13Representative/Lobbyist/Co-Political Action Director; prior to
14that she worked for the Department of Public Aid as a
15caseworker; on December 13, 1993, her career as a Legislative
16Government Relations Consultant began with the Illinois
17Education Association, where she served 20 years before
18retiring in 2013; she had a passion for health and wellness and
19enjoyed sharing and teaching the benefits of healthy living
20through her work as an Independent Distributor with Young
21Living Essential Oils; and
 
22    WHEREAS, Janette Weatherall was very passionate about

1serving in her church (Cathedral of Praise), health, education,
2and spending time with her family; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Janette Weatherall was preceded in death by her
4parents; her brother; and her sister; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Janette Weatherall is survived by her daughter,
6Fatina (Juan) Conway; her 5 sisters, Annie (Eddie) Jumper, Mary
7Helen Walker, Minnie Mclemore, Christine (Arthur) Francis, and
8Myra (Mark) Hunter; her brother, Sylvester (Aletha)
9Weatherall; her uncle, Herbert (Mary Frances) Weatherall; her 8
10grandchildren, Janee (Brandon) O'Bryant, Isaiah Conway,
11Jeremiah Conway, Darryn Conway, Damon Conway, Danae Conway,
12Danielle Conway, and Daniel Conway; her 2 great-grandchildren,
13Serenity and Christian O'Bryant; her god-son, Casey Collier;
14her best friend, Lonnie Grant; and a host of nephews, nieces,
15and friends; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Jeanette Weatherall, and extend our sincere condolences to her
19family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
20further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Janette Weatherall as an expression
