SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Norman L. Knaack of McHenry County, who
4passed away on March 21, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Norman Knaack was born in McHenry County on June
616, 1927 to George and Laura (nee Hacker) Knaack; he graduated
7from McHenry High School in 1945, where he played basketball,
8football, and golf, with his golf team finishing second in
9State; upon graduation, he joined the United States Navy; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Norman Knaack was a life-long employee of the
11Illinois Bell Telephone Company "Ma Bell", working for them for
12over 40 years; in 1972, he married Alice Clarkens and they
13settled in Crystal Lake; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Norman Knaack loved to play golf and was a member
15of the McHenry Country Club early on; he then played at
16Pistakee Golf Course and then was a member of Crystal Woods
17(Bit-o-Heather) Golf Club; he and his became snowbirds and
18moved to the Largo, Florida area and then the Palm Hill Country
19Club in Largo, Florida in 2000; he was an avid Chiacago Cubs
20and Bears fan; he was inducted into McHenry High School Hall of
21Fame for his success with the golf team; and

1    WHEREAS, Norman Knaack was preceded in death by his wife of
242 years, Alice; his parents; and his sisters, Dorothy (Eric)
3Carlquist, Alice Stock, Irma (Pat) Meyer, and Gwendolyn (Tim)
4Wheelock; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Norman Knaack is survived by his daughter,
6Catherine Corbett (Andis Rutkis); his sons, Kurt M. (Lyn), Tom,
7and Joe (Michelle) Knaack; his step-daughters, Connie Bonner
8and Donna K. (Dirk) Howell; his grandchildren, Justine (Anis
9Habib), George Vogt, Steve Knaack, Daneille (Geoff) Matson,
10Josh Knaack, Elloit and Mackenzie Knaack, Jessica (Nicholas,
11Sr.) Turk, and Scott Strudeman; his great-grandchildren,
12Trinity and Camryn Knaack, Seth Testa and Shane Matson,
13Nicholas, Jr., Nolan Turk, and Zachery Strudeman; and numerous
14nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17Norman L. Knaack, and extend our sincere condolences to his
18family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
19further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Norman Knaack as an expression of
22our deepest sympathy.
