SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Michael Garvin Boyle, formerly of Peoria,
4who passed away on May 7, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Michael Boyle was born in Lafayette, Indiana on
6January 31, 1947; he graduated with a Bachelor of Science and a
7Master of Science in Psychology from Bradley University; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Michael Boyle was a Fellow of The University of
9Chicago and was working as a senior innovation officer and
10researcher for the University of Wisconsin-Madison while
11living in Lakewood Ranch, Florida; he was the former President
12and CEO of the Human Service Center of Peoria; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Michael Boyle was a founding member of the Network
14for the Improvement of Addiction Treatment and the National
15Addiction Technology Transfer Center's The Bridge; he worked as
16an adviser of policy for the United Nations and consulted with
17the federal government on national mental health and substance
18abuse governmental policy and procedure; he was a member of the
19North Peoria Rotary, as well as many professional psychology
20organizations; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Michael Boyle is survived by his wife, Laura

1Simpson-Boyle; his son, Sean Michael Boyle, Ph.D.; his
2daughter-in-law, Lynn Boyle, Ph.D.; and his half-siblings,
3Jennifer, Jackie, Jeff, and Kurt Boyle; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Michael Garvin Boyle, and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Michael Boyle as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
