| 2 | | WHEREAS, Currently, access from Illinois Route 173 |
| 3 | | (IL-173) to Interstate 94 (I-94) in Lake County is available |
| 4 | | only for vehicles traveling South; there is no entrance point |
| 5 | | for vehicles that wish to travel North; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Full-access between IL-173 and I-94 would create |
| 7 | | an economic corridor in Lake County where competition is |
| 8 | | strong, especially between Illinois and Wisconsin; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Access and connectivity to transportation |
| 10 | | improves economic growth and would increase Illinois' ability |
| 11 | | to compete with Wisconsin; therefore, be it
|
| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
| 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we urge the Illinois |
| 14 | | Department of Transportation and the Illinois State Toll |
| 15 | | Highway Authority to construct a full-access interchange at |
| 16 | | IL-173 and I-94; and be it further

| 17 | | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be |
| 18 | | delivered to the Secretary of the Illinois Department of |
| 19 | | Transportation and the Executive Director of the Illinois State |
| 20 | | Toll Highway Authority Board of Directors.
