SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Walter T. Perkins, Jr. of Harvard, who 
4passed away on May 7, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Walter Perkins, Jr. was born on August 20, 1931 in 
6Fayette County, Kentucky; his parents were Walter and Alice 
7(nee Adair) Perkins, Sr.; he married Elva Jean Riley on May 28, 
81967 in Cincinnati, Ohio; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Walter Perkins, Jr. proudly served his country as 
10a member of the United States Air Force; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Walter Perkins, Jr. was employed as an automobile 
12mechanic at City Chevrolet in Chicago for many years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Walter Perkins, Jr. enjoyed watching old westerns 
14and eating Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Three Musketeers 
15bars; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Walter Perkins, Jr. was preceded in death by his 
17wife and several brothers and sisters; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Walter Perkins, Jr. is survived by a daughter, 
19Elva (Daniel) Sedlock; 2 grandchildren, Latasha (Mike) and

1Lindora (John); 3 great-grandchildren, Taylor Olivia, Wyatt 
2Thomas, and Mason Patrick; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Alonzo; and 
3his special friends, John and Evelyn Barnett; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
6family and friends, mourn the passing of Walter T. Perkins, 
7Jr.; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Walter Perkins, Jr. as an expression 
10of our sympathy.
