SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Richard James Shields of Harvard, who 
4passed away on May 8, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Shields was born on April 3, 1957 in 
6Woodstock; his parents were Edmund J. and Catherine F. (nee 
7Oomen) Shields; he married Karyl A. Hodoval on September 18, 
81982 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Cary; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Richard Shields was employed at Falcon Waste and 
10Recycling Inc., where he worked as a yardman on trucks and 
11heavy equipment; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Richard Shields was an outdoorsman that enjoyed 
13nature, hunting, and fishing; he also enjoyed tinkering with 
14old equipment, especially old farm equipment, and loved 
15spending time with his children; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Richard Shields was preceded in death by his 
17parents; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Richard Shields is survived by his wife, Karyl; 3 
19children, Samantha Shields, Brandon Shields, and Ashely 
20Shields; 5 brothers, Ed (Frances) Shields, Harry (Mary Beth)

1Shields, Tom (Debbie) Shields, Frank (Kathy) Shields, and Denny 
2(Meg) Shields; his favorite sister, Mary Kay Shields; and many 
3nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
6family and friends, mourn the passing of Richard James Shields; 
7and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Richard Shields as an expression of 
10our sympathy.
