SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Eustachia "Diane" Grubaugh of Ottawa, who
4passed away on May 3, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Diane Grubaugh was born in Baltimore, Maryland on
6February 8, 1940 to Roy Eldon and Nellie Darlene (nee Hall)
7Knoedler; she attended Grand Ridge Grade School and graduated
8from Ottawa Township High School; she graduated with a Bachelor
9of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois at
10Chicago College of Nursing in 1963; she married Donald Leonard
11Grubaugh on October 5, 1963 at First Presbyterian Church in
12Grand Ridge; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Diane Grubaugh was a practicing registered nurse
14for more than 40 years, beginning at Ryburn Memorial Hospital
15and then at Community Hospital of Ottawa; she was the
16administrator of the Home Health Department when the hospital
17created the program and she spent nearly half of her career as
18a home health nurse; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Diane Grubaugh was active in her community in
20countless ways throughout her lifetime; some of her volunteer
21activities included school room mother, Cub Scout and Campfire
22Leader, tutor, and mentor; she was a strong advocate for

1women's rights and took a keen interest in current events; she
2enjoyed reading, knitting, cooking, gardening, nature,
3learning, traveling, and dancing with her husband; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Diane Grubaugh was preceded in death by her
5parents; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Diane Grubaugh is survived by her husband, Don
7Grubaugh; her daughters, Dawn (Doug) Tedrick and Elizabeth
8(Tim) Drea; her son, Donny (Julie) Grubaugh; her grandchildren,
9Cameron and Kyle Tedrick, Andrew, Bridget, Lillian, and Jack
10Drea, and Jacob and Piper Grubaugh; her sisters, Shirley
11(Brian) Painter and Marcia (Pete) Strigin; her brother, Roy
12(Dottie) Knoedler; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore,
13be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Eustachia "Diane" Grubaugh, and extend our sincere condolences
17to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
18it further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Diane Grubaugh as an expression of
21our deepest sympathy.
