2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Eustachia "Diane" Grubaugh of Ottawa, who |
4 | | passed away on May 3, 2015; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Diane Grubaugh was born in Baltimore,
Maryland on |
6 | | February 8, 1940 to Roy Eldon and Nellie Darlene (nee Hall)
|
7 | | Knoedler; she attended Grand Ridge Grade School
and graduated |
8 | | from Ottawa Township High
School; she graduated with a Bachelor |
9 | | of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois at
|
10 | | Chicago College of Nursing in 1963; she married Donald Leonard
|
11 | | Grubaugh on October 5, 1963 at First Presbyterian Church in |
12 | | Grand
Ridge; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Diane Grubaugh was a practicing registered nurse |
14 | | for more than 40 years, beginning at Ryburn Memorial
Hospital |
15 | | and then at Community Hospital of Ottawa; she was the |
16 | | administrator of the Home Health
Department when the hospital |
17 | | created the program and she spent nearly half of her career as |
18 | | a home health nurse; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Diane Grubaugh was active in her community in |
20 | | countless ways throughout her lifetime; some of her volunteer
|
21 | | activities included school room mother, Cub Scout and Campfire |
22 | | Leader, tutor, and mentor; she was a strong advocate for |
|

1 | | women's rights and took a keen interest in current events; she |
2 | | enjoyed reading, knitting, cooking, gardening, nature, |
3 | | learning, traveling,
and dancing with her husband; and
|
4 | | WHEREAS, Diane Grubaugh was preceded in death by her |
5 | | parents; and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Diane Grubaugh is survived by her husband, Don
|
7 | | Grubaugh; her daughters, Dawn
(Doug) Tedrick and
Elizabeth |
8 | | (Tim) Drea; her son,
Donny (Julie) Grubaugh;
her grandchildren, |
9 | | Cameron and Kyle Tedrick,
Andrew, Bridget, Lillian, and Jack |
10 | | Drea, and
Jacob and Piper Grubaugh; her sisters, Shirley
|
11 | | (Brian) Painter and
Marcia (Pete) Strigin;
her brother, Roy |
12 | | (Dottie) Knoedler; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, |
13 | | be it

14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL |
15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
16 | | Eustachia "Diane" Grubaugh, and extend our sincere condolences |
17 | | to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be |
18 | | it further
|
19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
20 | | presented to the family of Diane Grubaugh as an expression of |
21 | | our deepest sympathy.
