SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Emily Grace Beazley, who passed away on 
4May 18, 2015; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Emily Beazley captured the hearts of thousands in 
6her community during her fight against non-Hodgkin lymphoma; 
7she and her family began a Facebook page called "Emily's 
8Entourage" where she received prayers and encouragement daily; 
9the colors of "Emily's Entourage" - purple and green - could be 
10seen all over Chicago displaying support and hope; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Emily Beazley wished to visit the Illinois State 
12Capitol, which she did in April of 2015,  making an impromptu 
13speech on the importance of finding a cure for her condition 
14and remaining optimistic; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Emily Beazley received words of encouragement and 
16support in a phone call from Grammy Award-winning artist Taylor 
17Swift; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Emily Beazley wished to one day become a nurse in 
19the oncology department; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Emily Beazley is the loved and cherished daughter

1of Ed and Nadia (nee Lopez) Beazley; the treasured sister 
2forever of Olivia; the adored granddaughter of Edmund, Sr. and 
3Renata Beazley and Grace and the late Raul Lopez; she is also 
4survived by dear aunts, uncles, cousins, Carly the Chihuahua, 
5family, friends, and the hundreds of supporters who make up 
6"Emily's Entourage"; therefore, be it
  
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL 
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of 
9Emily Grace Beazley, and extend our sincere condolences to her 
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
11further
  
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13presented to the family of Emily Beazley as an expression of 
14our deepest sympathy.
