SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Petty Officer 3rd Class Ryan Burris of
4Lisle, who passed away on May 21, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ryan Burris graduated from Lisle High School in
62009; in high school, he was a 3-sport athlete, participating
7in football, wrestling, and track and field, where he threw
8shot put and discus; he was also a Boy Scout through his senior
9year of high school; he joined the United States Navy in March
10of 2012; after training at the Great Lakes Naval Station in
11Lake County, he was stationed in San Diego, California before
12leaving for his first deployment on Easter Sunday; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Ryan Burris was serving in Abu Dhabi, United Arab
14Emirates in support of Operation Inherent Resolve; he was
15temporarily assigned to the Crisis Response Element of Joint
16Special Operations Task Force - Arabian Peninsula, Special
17Operations Command Central and U.S. Central Command; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ryan Burris was proud to belong to a military
19family; his 2 grandfathers served in the Army and Navy,
20respectively, during World War II; his father and uncle both
21served in the Army and his cousin recently returned from
22several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan; and

1    WHEREAS, Ryan Burris is survived by his parents, Karen and
2Dennis Burris, and his sisters, Tammy and Audrey; therefore, be
3it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Petty Officer 3rd Class Ryan Burris, and extend our sincere
7condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
8him; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Ryan Burris as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
